About the role
- Responsible for the daily set up and breakdown of dining room, bar and serving stations according to restaurant guidelines.
- Cleaning and filling of condiments
- Greeting and seating guests courteously
- Present menus and make specific and knowledgeable suggestions, recommendations and answer questions
- Maintain table appearance throughout the shift
- Setting up and maintaining breakfast buffet
- Polishing cutlery and rolling same in linens.
- Taking and processing telephone orders and requests
- Have a thorough knowledge & understanding of entire menu & ingredients of all menu items
- Have a thorough knowledge & understanding f food allergies
- Taking orders and accurately ringing them in
- Checking identification to assure that no alcoholic beverages are served to or consumed by patrons below the legal drinking age
- Recognizing various levels of intoxication and assuring that no one intoxicated is served additional alcoholic beverages
- Preparing, mixing, garnishing and serving mixed drinks –must have vast knowledge of drink recipes, wine pairing and proper opening and service of same
- Serving food and beverages to guests seated in the dining room or at the bar
- Accurately handling cash and credit card transactions and giving accurate change – must be able to accurately convert currency and split checks.
- Hand wash and restock glassware maintaining optimal sanitation standards
- Replenish, restock & rotate dry good, condiment and beverage stock
- Clear and reset tables quickly & efficiently throughout the shift
- Clean and maintain station and equipment while practicing excellent sanitation and organizational skills
- Change bag in the box soda, beer kegs and CO2 tanks
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Clean up spills, ashtrays, sweep and mop floors as needed, etc.
- Must assist with cleaning, organization and maintenance of bar, walk-in coolers and all storage areas
- Report any maintenance needs to manager
- Maintain security of all bar & restaurant supplies
- Perform additional reasonable responsibilities, as required and as requested by Manager at any time
- Must be absolutely honest, respectful & discreet
