About the role
Laying bricks, blocks, and stones to build walls, partitions, and other structures.
Mixing and applying mortar or concrete to bind materials together.
Repairing and maintaining masonry structures, including patching cracks and replacing damaged bricks.
Finishing surfaces by smoothing, pointing, or applying protective coatings.
Ensuring safety and quality standards on construction sites. Cutting, bending, and shaping steel bars and mesh using hand and power tools.
Positioning and securing rebar and mesh in formwork before concrete is poured.
Fixing reinforcement with wire, clips, or welding to maintain structural integrity.
Installing spacers and supports to keep steel in correct alignment.
Collaborating with concrete workers during pouring to ensure reinforcement stays in place.
