Assistant Mechanic

AMVJ Auto Mechanic Mobile Ltd T/A AMVJ Auto Mechanic Mobile is looking for a qualified and dependable assistant mechanic to assist the senior mechanic in carrying out repair and maintenance, and preventive work on various types of automotive equipment.

Duties

Test drives vehicles to ensure repairs are properly completed; Updates maintenance and repair logs; Assists with inventory maintenance of replacement parts and equipment; Inspects tools and equipment to ensure that they are in working order; Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper locations; Performs other duties as assigned; Conducts safety checks on vehicles; Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures; Assists senior technicians in the completion of project work; Maintains a clean, safe work area; Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services; Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times; Assists with service calls for breakdowns; Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment; Performs other maintenance-related work as required.

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed; Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanical fluids; High school diploma or equivalent; Excellent mechanical skills; Ability to multitask and work independently; Valid Drivers License Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed; Must be able to work in the field, as needed, in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold; Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position; Ability to use hand and power tools. Must have a clean police record.
